Like a number of growers we've been looking at cover crops on our Denchworth and Hanslope soils.
Sown in early September 2013 conditions were dry and it didn't really rain until early October.... then it just got wetter and wetter.

The benefits so far are reduced diesel use, better soil structure and less winter soil erosion. Lets see what the combine says in August 2014.
