Last week the Allerton Project's biobed took a step nearer to completion. The drip lines, turf and plumbing were all installed. The peat substitute, straw and soil allow washings, from sprayer cleaning and filling, to be filtered and broken down.

Concrete filling area drains to underground collection tanks |

Submersible pumps transfer washing via drip lines to the biomix |

After passing through the biomix treated water will pass
through a further drip line onto a grassed area |
The next job is to 'plumb in' the 10,000 litre water tank and spray can washing system and connect the electricity supply to the submersible pumps.
This all looks very complex to me, but I'm sure you all know what you're doing out there! So this is the way that you dispose of your agricultural waste? Seems like the whole project has been really well thought out, with every detail taken care of. You must have put some serious hours of thought and planning into it.
